Anthony Venetz has a great depth of understanding of both the manned and unmanned aviation industry derived from an operational, managerial and academic background. His experience in aviation spans over 30 years. As a safety management and regulatory affairs professional, he has a background in consulting, teaching and safety investigation. Since establishing Across Safety Development, UK in 2010, clients he has advised, consulted and trained include the UK CAA, the RAF, Heathrow Airport, British Airways and the UK Air Accident Investigation Branch. His experience in the unmanned aviation industry began in 2017, obtaining a Commercial Operator permission for fixed wing and multi-copter UAS. In 2019, he achieved National Qualified Entity certification (for Across Safety) from the UK CAA. In addition to training and testing numerous UAS remote pilots for their commercial operator permissions, he is also Across Safety’s lead safety management and regulatory affairs consultant. In this role he has assisted numerous UAS manufacturers and operators with the development of policies, procedures, operations manuals and safety cases in support of their (mainly BVLOS) National Aviation Authority applications (including authorities in the UK, Spain, Switzerland and Brazil). He has a thorough understanding of UK CAA and EASA regulatory requirements, as well as JARUS SORA, and is experienced in the development of successful authorisation applications and liaison with National Aviation Authorities. As a pilot, he has flown a wide range of aircraft types in diverse operating environments. These include international passenger operations on B-747s, regional airline operations in South Australia, seaplane operations in Micronesia and owning and operating a successful flying school. His UAS experience includes both fixed wing and multi-copter UAS in VLOS and BVLOS operations.
