Stéphane Morelli graduated from the Ecole Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées. He has retired from the French Army in 2011, after a career dedicated to leadership and military technology. From 2007 to 2009, he commanded the tactical Drones regiment of the French Army. In 2009, he was assigned as Intelligence and Drones expert for future programmes of the French Army. From 2011, he worked as a consultant for several major companies in the aeronautical and defence sector. In 2012, he founded Azur Drones, a civil drones manufacturer specialized in drones for the security and defence sectors. In 2013, Stéphane Morelli co-created the Fédération Professionnelle du Drone Civil, the French drone users association, of which he was president from 2015 to 2017. In 2018, Stéphane Morelli took on the responsibility of Compliance officer of Azur Drones to address the regulatory requirements of the Skeyetech system, a highly automated UAS dedicated to the surveillance of the sensitive sites. The Skeyetech system is currently deployed in several European countries, in the framework of the Specific category of the EU UAS regulation. Since March 2021, Stéphane Morelli is the UAS simulation product manager at SOGITEC, France, a Dassault Aviation company.
