Patrick Mascart is a consultant for several companies and local governments. He helps them to set up a strategy related to the use of drones in various fields of activity. For 5 years, he was Vice-President and then President of the Belgian Drone Federation. In this capacity, he worked extensively on the implementation of the Belgian regulation on the use of drones, which became applicable in 2016. In parallel, he is also vice coordinator of Working Group 5 at the Belgian Civil Drone Council and CIO of the start-up DRONE4CARE. In September 2018, he decided to focus his efforts on ID2MOVE, the first Walloon incubator on autonomous systems developed by the Brussels University (ULB) and the “Intercommunale du Brabant Wallon” (INBW). After a few months, he became director of the centre, which he continues to develop with the objective to make it a European reference. In 2021, he launched the FRTC (First Responder Training Centre) in Brussels, which aims to offer very specific training in the use of drones for first responders. Finally, in October 2021, he joined SABCA, a well-known company in the aeronautical world, as a business developer in the company’s Drone Business Unit.
